Childhood Education Programs

Childhood Educational Programs are wide ranging in scope to better serve members and their families.

Wednesday Evenings are filled with activities for children of various age groups. The groups listed below attract children from K through 8 grades. More information can be obtained about any of these programs by contacting the church office.

Sonshine Kids

Who: Grades K-2 Activities
When: Wednesdays, 5:00-5:45 p.m.
Where: Room 17

Sonshine Kids are those children who shine for Jesus. They meet weekly to experience Bible stories, art projects and games that help them grow in faith and in relationships with one another.

Good News Bearers

Who: Grades 3-4 Activities
When: Wednesdays, 6:10-6:55 p.m.
Where: Lounge

To "bear" means to carry or bring. The Good News Bearers are those who carry the Good News of Jesus Christ from their hearts to others. Children meet weekly learning Bible stories, playing games and building relationships with their peers.

Big Dig

Who: Grades 5-6 Bible Study.
When: Wednesdays, 7:00-7:45 p.m.
Where: Room 17

Big Dig is a pre-confirmation program. This year, we will be covering a variety of Old Testament Stories and how they relate to our lives. Each week our youth will meet in small groups with TIM Teamers (high school youth and also have some fellowship time together.

7th & 8th Grade Confirmation Classes

When: Wednesdays, 7:00-8:30 p.m.
Where: Lounge

Confirmation at St. Philip's is a 3-year process of learning for 7th-9th graders. 7th and 8th graders meet every Wednesday night for large group led by pastors and small group discussion. The 9th graders meet with mentors once a month and get confirmed in the fall of their 10th grade.
