Music Staff

Stephanie Phelps directs the adult choir and leads the worship band for the contemporary service and has been at St. Philip's since 2001. Stephanie graduated from St. Olaf College in 1997 with a degree in vocal music education. She is studying for her master's degree in the same field at the University of St. Thomas and plans to graduate in 2010. In addition to her work at St. Philip's, Stephanie is also a choir director at Westwood Middle School in the Spring Lake Park district. She is an avid reader, loves to bike, play volleyball, and sing.

Julie Kivell Overlie is the director of children's choirs. She is a licensed K-12 vocal/general music teacher, but is currently pursuing a career as a stay-at-home Mom. She plans to resume her teaching career in the future.; Julie received her Master's degree in music education from the University of St. Thomas and her Bachelor's degree in music from Luther College. Julie and her husband, Jeff, are members at St. Philip's along with their two sons, Evan and Kaj.
